A social enterprise
with engineering DNA
Cybergiene created the ETHICS Digital Resiliency Framework and the MacroApp platform. Cyrover Lab, our innovation arm, develops the 60+ MicroApps that bring it to life. All of it completely free, built by one person, powered by conviction.
Two engines, one mission
Cybergiene
The Platform
The social enterprise behind it all. Cybergiene created the ETHICS Digital Resiliency Framework and built the MacroApp platform, the architecture that makes 60+ interconnected MicroApps possible.
Cyrover Lab
The Innovation Arm
The research and development lab that builds MicroApps on the Cybergiene platform. Every MicroApp, from CyberMind to SecQRty, is designed, engineered, and shipped by Cyrover Lab.
The ETHICS Digital Resiliency Framework
ETHICS is a holistic digital resiliency framework: a six-pillar model designed to address every dimension of cyber resilience, from individual awareness to community-level protection. It's a product architecture and a thesis on how digital safety should work.
Why a new framework?
Existing approaches to digital safety are fragmented. Awareness training exists in isolation, security tools don't educate, and none of them adapt to the individual. ETHICS unifies all six dimensions into a single, coherent model where each pillar reinforces the others.
Most importantly, ETHICS wraps everything in Resilience, the structural layer ensuring individuals and communities can absorb, recover, and continue in the face of cyber threats. It's about endurance as much as prevention.
Education
10 microapps
Awareness is the foundation. Without understanding threats, people can't protect themselves. We make learning continuous, engaging, and tailored rather than a one-off compliance checkbox.
Tools
12 microapps
Knowledge without tools is frustration. We give people practical, easy-to-use security solutions like QR scanners, password managers, and network monitors that work instantly.
Hygiene
8 microapps
Security is a habit, not a product. Like brushing your teeth, digital hygiene must become second nature. We track, nudge, and gamify daily security habits until they stick.
Intelligence
9 microapps
You can't defend against what you don't know exists. We surface real-time threat intelligence tailored to your profile, your location, and your digital footprint.
Community
9 microapps
Security is a team sport. From family safety plans to peer mentoring, we build shared responsibility because one person's weakness becomes everyone's vulnerability.
Safety
10 microapps
Protection, response, and recovery. From fraud detection to incident response to keeping families safe online, Safety is the pillar that catches you when prevention fails.
Resilience
The outer frame that holds the ecosystem together. Resilience isn't a separate pillar; it's the structural layer ensuring that when things go wrong (and they will), individuals and communities can absorb the impact, recover quickly, and continue.
A vicious cycle no one is fixing
Cyber threats and digital safety are trapped in a self-reinforcing loop. The less people know, the more they're attacked. The more they're attacked, the more they disengage.
THE CYCLE
Low awareness
People don't understand the threats they face online
Poor digital habits
Weak passwords, no MFA, clicking suspicious links
Successful attacks
Breaches, scams, and identity theft hit harder
Eroded trust
People disengage from digital life or feel helpless
Breaking the cycle
Cybergiene changes consumer behaviour
Instead of one-off training that fades, Cybergiene embeds security into daily life. Bite-sized learning, real-time threat alerts, and gamified habits that compound over time. When people are continuously engaged, they build real digital resilience, not just compliance.
Daily engagement
Not annual training
Habits that stick
Gamified & rewarding
Cycle broken
Awareness → action → resilience
Why Cybergiene
Others can't, won't, or aren't built to solve this. Here's why it takes a different kind of organisation.
Built different from other startups
Truly native, no shortcuts
Our apps are built for each platform natively, not wrapped web views or low-effort cross-platform shortcuts. We deliver the experience your device was designed for.
AI augments, humans architect
AI accelerates our velocity, especially for front-end patterns and repetitive workflows. But critical backends and security infrastructure are painstakingly hand-crafted. No vibecoding where it matters.
Security isn't a feature, it's the foundation
Most startups bolt on security later. We started with it. Our infrastructure, our architecture, our processes are security-first from line one, not an afterthought.
Why governments, NFPs, and big business can't solve this
Government
- -Bound by procurement cycles and political timelines
- -Solutions built by lowest-bidder contractors
- -Can't move fast enough to match evolving threats
- -Focus on policy, not products people actually use
Big Business
- -Fundamental conflict of interest: your data is their product
- -Security is a cost centre, not a mission
- -Built to protect the enterprise, not the individual
- -Incentivised to upsell, not to empower
NFPs & NGOs
- -Chronically under-resourced and understaffed
- -Can't attract or retain engineering talent
- -Great intentions, but lack the technical depth
- -Grant-dependent and can't sustain product development
It takes a social enterprise with engineering DNA.
No conflicts of interest. No shareholder pressure. No procurement bottlenecks. Just a team that cares deeply about building the best possible digital safety product and giving it away for free.
Not just another security app
Six fundamental innovations that make Cybergiene the most comprehensive digital safety platform ever built.
On-Device AI
CyberMind
Your personal AI security assistant runs entirely on your device. No cloud, no data leaving your phone. Private by design, powerful by engineering.
Threat Intelligence
Real-time awareness
Your digital assets mapped against active threats in real-time. See what matters to you through interactive visualisations, not generic warnings.
True Native Experience
Built for your device
Not a web wrapper. Cybergiene runs natively on both iOS and Android with a custom-built cross-platform engine: one codebase, full native performance.
Gamified Safety
Rovvybot
Points, levels, and achievements that make security engaging. Learn through play, track your progress, and convert points to real charitable donations.
Honeycomb Dashboard
You at the centre
An intuitive hexagonal interface with you at the centre. ETHICS pillars fan out around you so you can pinch, tap, and explore your entire digital safety landscape.
Privacy-First Architecture
Your data stays yours
AI processing on your device. Notifications stay local. Profile data never leaves your phone. We built the architecture so we never need your data.

Kenny Zhong
Master of Cyber Security Operations (UNSW Canberra). ADF Cyber Gap Year alumni. AWS Security Specialty and Azure DevOps certified, working through CISSP. ADF Cyber Reserve Program applicant.
Security Engineer (IAM/PAM/AppSec) on the SOC team at Ausgrid by day, building Cybergiene by night. Previously DevSecOps at CommBank. Speaker at BSides Sydney and Cloud Security Summit. Regular at CISO Sydney, CISO Leaders Summit, and SitDown.
In late 2025, Kenny saw the gaping holes in how Australia approaches digital safety. Very little was being done to protect individuals and small businesses. He shadow-launched Cybergiene and provided consultation for Horizon 2 of the Cyber Security Strategy 2023-2030, focused on scaling cybersecurity across the economy.
Through those conversations, Kenny realised the systemic issues run deep across government, private sector, academia, and NFPs. Drawing inspiration from healthcare, psychology, and design, he built the ETHICS framework and the Beefore App: a swiss-army knife for digital resiliency. Think of it as the Netflix of digital safety, personalised and engaging enough to actually stick.
Kenny handles engineering, FinOps, legal, accounting, operations, networking, and partnerships as a single-person operation. From 8:30 AM to 5 PM (with on-call rotation) he protects critical infrastructure. The rest goes to Cybergiene.
